Thirty-four landowner education subsidy beneficiaries graduate from IBSU

Thirty-four (34) Education Subsidy Program students sponsored by various landowner subsidiaries managed by the Mineral Resources Development Company (MRDC) have graduated from the Institute of Business Studies University (IBSU) on April 10, 2026.

The group graduated with various Bachelors, associate degrees and Diplomas from different courses of study.

MRDC managing director and chief executive officer Augustine Mano congratulated the graduates on their achievements.

Mr Mano also thanked each subsidiary for their continuous support in sponsoring the Education Subsidy Program since its inception for students attending various institutions such as IBSU, UPNG, DWU, UOG and UOT.

He said one of the key focuses for MRDC and its subsidiaries is on providing quality education through infrastructure and school fee sponsorship for students from the project footprint areas.

“Our scholarship program, which started in 2022, has supported over 10,000 students. 1152 of them have gone on and graduated from tertiary institutions,” Mr Mano said.

The Education Subsidy Program is managed by the MRDC on behalf of its subsidiary companies, benefiting students from mining, oil, and gas project areas across tertiary institutions.
