MRDC Group is looking for a Facilities Manager to lead the management, maintenance, and performance of its commercial and residential property portfolio.
The Facilities Manager provides strategic oversight of property operations and facilities management, ensuring assets are well-maintained, compliant, and financially optimized. The role will supervise Senior Property Officers, Building Managers and works closely with the Project Management Team, who are responsible for maintaining existing properties and undertake new developments
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight of property portfolio under MRDC, maintain and manage current facilities.
• Ensure day-to-day operations of all buildings and facilities.
• Plan, schedule and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Manage utilities (electricity, water, sewerage, backup power and HVAC).
• Supervise Senior Property Officers, and maintenance staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Oversee building systems (air conditioning, lifts, fire systems, and generators).
• Ensure facilities comply with health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
• Ensure all facilities are clean, safe, and functional at all times.
• Manage service providers including cleaning, security, and maintenance contractors.
• Works closely with the Building Managers in monitoring building systems and ensure optimal operational performance.
• Prepare and manage facilities operating budgets.
• Monitor and control expenditure on maintenance, utilities and services.
• Maintain an up-to-date asset register (plant, equipment, and building components).
• Asset replacement and capital works programs.
• Prepare long-term maintenance and lifecycle cost plans.
• Support capital improvement and refurbishment projects.
• Act as point of contact for tenants or building occupants.
• Resolve maintenance issues, complaints, and service requests.
• Coordinate fit-outs, moves, and access management.
• Prepare regular operational and maintenance reports.
• Report incidents, defects, and risk issues to management.
• Staff management and planning to ensure effective workflow and cooperative working relationships amongst staff members.
What we’re looking for:
• Relevant qualifications in Facilities Management, Engineering, Property or Asset Management.
• Trade qualifications are highly regarded (building, electrical & HVAC) or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in facilities or building management, with at least 3years in management role.
• Experience managing (commercial, residential and hotel facilities, maintenance team and contractors.
• Managing Operating Budgets and service contracts.
• Experience with older assets and mixed-use portfolio is an advantage.
• Proven leadership and team management capability.
• Strong reporting skills.
