The Mineral Resources Development Company (MRDC) has delivered sports uniforms to the Kerema Rugby and Basket Ball league’s respectively. A small ceremony was held today on the basketball court in Kerema Town for the presentation of sports uniforms.

This included 10 sets of rugby league jerseys each were presented to Kerema Rugby League for men and women while 8 sets of uniforms were presented to Kerema Basketball.

Present to donate the uniforms was General Manager for Security, Safety and Protocol, Michael Koupere on behalf of MRDC’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Augustine Mano.

Mr Koupere said this is an initiative to support and get the community involved sports in Kerema Town.

“Sports is a unifying activity that fosters discipline, leadership and opportunity for our young people in the community.

“We encourage the community to get involved in sports and other constructive activities as a way to avoid social issues that affect the community,” he said.
